Ultimate Frankfurters

Go from hot dog to top dog when you pimp up our classic German frankfurter with a heap of onions and sauce

  • 1 pack Footsteps® Frankfurters
  • 4 hot dog or sub rolls
  • 4 white onions
  • Tomato ketchup
  • Mustard


  1. Slice the onions into rings
  2. Heat a large frying pan over a medium heat and add the oil to the pan
  3. Cook the onions for 5-6 mins, or until soft and browned
  4. Sprinkle over a little sugar and stir until the sugar melts
  5. Bring a large pan of water to the boil, the cook the frankfurters, according to the pack instructions
  6. When cooked, drain thoroughly
  7. Place a generous portion of onions into each roll, add a hotdog, then squeeze over a generous helping of ketchup and mustard
  8. Serve with a beer
