Spaghetti Bolognese with Diced Chorizo

Add a little chorizo flavour to your spaghetti bolognese - just a handful is enough

  • 70g Footsteps® Diced Chorizo
  • 1 white onion
  • 500g minced beef
  • 400g chopped tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 tbsps tomato puree
  • Pinch of sugar
  • Salt and pepper
  • 150g spaghetti
  • 50g grated parmesan


  1. Finely chop the onion
  2. Heat a frying pan over a medium heat, then add the oil
  3. Cook the onion, until starting to soften
  4. Add the minced beef and cook until browned, then add the diced chorizo
  5. Once the chorizo is browned, stir in the tomato puree, chopped tomatoes and bay leaf
  6. Season to taste, then add pinch of sugar
  7. Cover, turn the heat down and simmer for 20 mins
  8. Meanwhile bring a pan of salted water to the boil, then add the spaghetti
  9. Cook, according to instructions, then drain
  10. Divide the spaghetti between 4 bowls, then spoon over the bolognese sauce
  11. Sprinkle over the grated cheese and enjoy
